Welcome to the AJ Smith Elementary School... a GREAT place to learn and grow!

AJ Smith Elementary is an exciting place for intermediate students (grades 4-6) to learn and grow!  It is one of three buildings in the Union Springs Central School District [Cayuga School and Middle/High School]. 

The school recognized its 40th Anniversary in June 2007 (opened in 1967) with some new landscaping and an Open House!  The building is situated on spacious property in a residential section of the village, less than one mile from beautiful Cayuga Lake, and in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region.

AJ Smith Elementary consists of 10 homeroom sections in Grades 4-6 along with a 12:1:1 Special Education Class that is directed through the Cayuga Onondaga BOCES.

The talented school staff includes special area teachers in the following areas: Physical Education, Instrumental Music, Choral Music, Art, and Library Studies.  Students also receive instruction at a Computer Lab containing more than twenty-five computers.  Our staff also includes a Social Worker, Psychologist, and School Nurse.

School hours are 8:50 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.  Students who walk or ride to school should arrive at 8:50 a.m.  If you have any questions about our school, please contact Mrs. Ross (School Secretary) or Mrs. Burcroff (Elementary Principal) at 315-889-7102.
