Meetings

Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meets the first Thursday of every month, alternating between the Cayuga Elementary building and AJ Smith building.  Please check the district calendar for location and times.

Purpose

The purpose of our PTO is to promote the best possible education for every child in our elementary schools through a cooperative effort of parents and teachers.

Who can belong?

All parents of children in grades K-6 are considered members.

What has the PTO done?

PTO efforts have accomplished many things:

Playground equipment

Murals in Cayuga and AJ cafeterias

New stage curtains in the Cayuga and AJ cafeterias

Volunteer help with school activities

Funding school assemblies, special awards, projects, family activity nights

Staff (Teaching and Support) and Board of Education apprecation events

Why should you be involved?

The benefits of participation include the opportunity to support your child's educational program, a chance to meet new people, sympathetic "ears" in the form of other parents, and a deeper understanding of the quality of our schools.
