Welcome to English 11 and AP English!

English 11 is a literature and writing based course that stresses the New York State Standards in preparation for the Regents Exam and ultimately graduation.  Throughout the year, we will read poems, short stories, drama, novels and nonfiction.  We will write a variety of pieces each marking period, including essays, poems, journals, fiction and research responses (this includes one formal research paper during the year and various research responses and presentations).  In addition to reading and writing, we will deliver both formal and informal presentations throughout the year. 

AP English is an extension of English 11.  In addition to the above reading and writing requirements, AP students will do supplementary reading, researching and writing activities in order to prepare for the AP Exam in May as well as the June Regents.  AP students work at a faster and more independent pace due to the May exam.

Hopefully, this will be an educational and enjoyable year for everyone.  Let's work together to become critical thinkers and learners!
